Neil Gerstner completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979.  In 1982, Mr. Gerstner earned his law degree from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  During his legal studies, Mr. Gerstner wrote for, and was later an associate editor of, the Pacific Law Review.  Mr. Gerstner was also a member of the School's honor society.

 

Mr. Gerstner has represented employers before State and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, the State Labor Commissioner, the United States Department of Labor, the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

 

He is a frequent lecturer before management groups and professional organizations throughout the State of California on current employment law topics.

 

Mr. Gerstner was awarded an "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest professional rating given by the nationally recognized legal directory.   Mr. Gerstner is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the State of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Eastern Districts of California.

 

Mr. Gerstner is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission of the City of Walnut Creek.  He is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
